July 11 until today, July 14, have been a mad rush of tourism. We went on a group tour for three days with other volunteers--7 bus loads to be exact--and then rested this morning before going to the U.S. Embassy and then out for drinks. I'm still going to try to do a post that covers each day, although they may be more brief than they've been while I've been composing them in my mind during tour bus rides between sites.
Here's a video as a teaser. It's of University of Missouri students on the same tour as we have been on and is from the government owned CCTV--they run all TV here. The students are quoted in English. The last person interviewed is Director Gao, who came to Boston to test us in February. A lot of the footage of students in orange shirts is showing the job we'll be doing in a few weeks.

P.S. We didn't get to try our hand at calligraphy. It must pay to have CCTV camera crews on your side!
